Early on Sunday, June 21, Midsummer’s Day, a gathering of 16 walkers met at Cramalt, on the shores of Megget Reservoir to recreate a historic journey made as far back as 1621. For in that year, Megget and Lyne churches were united and every three weeks the minister would travel from Lyne to Megget to preach – for him a 52-mile round trip, probably on horse or waggon, via Tweedsmuir and Talla.
