I took this series ten years ago during a walk along the Arno River in Florence. It was one of those days where I had headed out deliberately to take photos, even making the effort of bringing my big camera with me, and without knowing it beforehand, I was lucky to find Florence bathed in the most beautiful soft and slightly hazy light.I remember being absolutely ecstatic as I walked along the Arno, crossing several bridges and shooting like crazy. Even though I had photographed these places sev

Art in Copenhagen: Thorvaldsen’s Museum (opens the original)

I realise that I have skipped a couple of months when it comes to my regular series, so I better get back in the game.First up is a new entry in my Visual guide to Copenhagen: Thorvaldsen’s Museum. As I mentioned in my post about Glyptoteket, I am not particularly into sculpture, and, moreover, I know absolutely nothing about this art form, but I do love to see them (and photograph them) in a beautiful museum, and Thorvaldsen’s Museum is definitely among the most beautiful museums I have seen so

This roll is not part of my 12 months on film project, as it was already in the camera when I decided to start the project. In April and May, I went for a lot of walks around my local neighbourhood, since I had promised myself to walk a minimum of 8000 steps every day. (Once the heatwave arrived in June, I had to give up on this goal, but I will begin again in September when temperatures will be more human

12 months on film: Roll # 2 (opens the original)

    Excerpt

    Read excerpt

My second roll in the 12 months on film project was a colour film, which I had never tried before: the Kodak Pro Image 100. I shot the entire roll during our summer vacation in July in Copenhagen, but truth be told, it ended up being mainly a question of having to finish the roll. For several reasons, I wasn’t inspired to take photos, and the main reason why I did it anyway was that I was forced to finish the roll and have it developed in Copenhagen before returning to Florence, since Copenhagen
