As someone who has transitioned from being called Brandon (aside from some family and friends, and it doesn’t bother me one bit) to Davis, I’ve recognized the power in a name. My parents weren’t in agreement originally over my first name. One wanted Cory. One wanted Ezekiel. They settled on Brandon. A fine name without question, though in recent years it’s been co-opted by the ultra right as well with the Let’s Go Brandon slogan. Also, one of my favorite scenes in any movie is based on the name.
