Minor medical update plus...please help if you can (opens the original)

Big, unhappy, not-terribly-scary news time!My surgeon’s office called me today about my procedure done on Monday. Of course they cleaned up the surgical site, removed some of the staples, and took cultures because of a tiny bit of discharge and a “smell.”Turns out that my body has contracted staphylococcus aureus. My ass, who had to have a below-knee amputation turned into an above-knee because of fucking MRSA, somehow caught staph. Which is hardly the end of the world; staph is a fairly common

This past Monday—the 21st—was my surgical debridement on my right stump. And body do I have what I hope is a story.Got to the hospital a little late owing to traffic. (Gee, Monday morning, fairly big city—traffic happens.) Had to ask at the reception desk if I had to go through the admissions office since the procedure was only going to be outpatient. The receptionist said I had to go through admissions, but then she asked if she could push me there.I am still not used to people asking if I’d li

Ever since my last surgery on August 16—a Sunday!—moving my stump around has required significant effort that results in my feeling many things. I can feel the muscles inside my stump moving and shifting, I can feel the sk

I won’t stretch this out. It’s noon and I’m trying to do stuff before I leave for my surgery follow-up.If you can spare any money, please consider making a donation to me. My cupboards and fridge are bare, and I am still trying to get a microwave and some pots and pans so I can actually cook. Plus I’ve gotten a warning from my phone provider that if I don’t pay my bill, they’ll interrupt my service in a couple of days.I’m trying not to stress out too badly. I’m just kind of tired and desperate.I

    Noontime ramblings (opens the original)

    Excerpt · Neutral tone

Thursday is my follow-up appointment since my below-knee amputation was made into an above-knee on August 16. I am praying for two outcomes: removal of the staples and permission to shower without having to wrap up my stump. That second thing is really blood annoying. And I can never get it perfect anyway. So hopefully my surgeon gives me nothing but good news.I find myself lately being rather incredibly bored. I admittedly have very little to do. I can’t do much except for watching stuff and tr
