But I wanted to give you something to read while I’m busy. I wrote this story in 2022 while sitting in a terrible writing class where they churned out the old classics like ‘write what you know’. I decided to take their useless advice and do something fun with it! The draft story has sat on my computer ever since, and so as a bit of a war

The Odd Ducks of Subquack (opens the original)

    Excerpt · Neutral tone

I can easily describe myself as an author: I’m an odd duck (opens the original)

    Excerpt · Neutral tone

When I was little, I wore goggles and a too-big bathing suit around the house, just because. On rare sunny days in the North-East (40 years ago, before the time of waves of UK heatwaves) I was to be found indoors, making shoes out of box

Hello lovely readers, here is the next instalment of Daughter of the Forgotten Goddess. Free subscribers only get to see a small part of it, and for that I apologise, I know it can be very annoying and feel like you are being coerced into taking out a paid sub, so let me explain why Daughter of the Forgotten Goddess is paywalled, before we get to this week’s chapter.First, it is a complete novel. One I took back from a trad publisher so I had more control over when and how it made its way into t
