One of my earliest memories centers on a public bathroom. I was at the Recreation Center, a neighborhood resource with a swimming pool, ball fields, and indoor activities for children, and I had to visit the little boy’s room. I was very young. I don’t know what age, but I couldn't tell which door was for the boys and which was for the girls.Some older boys saw an opportunity to be helpful, and directed me to the girls’ restroom. Someone was in there, and they directed me right the hell back out
