Big Little Things
I am an avid note-taker in words and visuals. My Pakistani-Polish heritage influences my occasional writing of essays and food memoir. Beyond the page, I love making jam as a way to preserve fruit beyond its season.

45. Season (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The seasons, the solstices and equinoxes that mark their beginnings are my favourite markers of time. Some say that to live in rhythm with nature requires living in it. That city living at best dilutes and at worst severs that relationship. That has not been true for me, and it is certainly not true of living in a city that is brimful of parks, squares, wetlands, reservoirs and commons. There is a marked difference between android and iPhone — the one with the iPhone takes one image and moves on, while the one with the android spends several minutes manipulating exposure and light and taking multiple shots. I wonder what Rothko would make of this effort to render on screen colour perceived
