I own more trench coats than any one person reasonably needs, but apparently there’s always room for another. This one is particularly good: long, loose, 100% cotton and, crucially, no belt, which gives it that clean, slightly oversized shape I love. The high collar is what really got me though. I’d wear it with white jeans and loafers, collar up when the weather allows for a bit of drama.<a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" href="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!23NH!,f_auto,q_au

The Skincare Switch I Make Every September… (opens the original)

I love this time of year. Give me a jacket, a great pair of jeans and that first hint of autumn in the air and I’m very happy. 1 These are quite possibly my most comfortable travel trousers. They’re made from a lightweight, wrinkle-free fabric with a soft elasticated waist and a relaxed barrel leg, so they feel incredibly easy but still look streamlined so that you don’t arrive looking like you’ve spent several hours folded into an aeroplane seat. I also love that they come in three lengths, which makes getting the proportions right so much easier. They wash brilliantly, dry quickly and require virtually no maintenance,

Two months of using things right down to the last drop, and apparently summer turns me into a full-body-product maximalist. There is A LOT of body care in this one, which makes complete sense because the minute bare arms and legs are involved, my body routine suddenly becomes almost as elaborate as my face routine. There’s plenty of skincare too, a little bit of hair, including the hair serum I started using and somehow managed to finish, and even a tiny bit of make-up. Although, judging by the r

1 As someone who likes brows to look like brows, not laminated into submission, this is the brow gel I keep coming back to. It gives just enough hold to lift and shape without leaving brows stiff, crunchy or overly ‘done’. The brush is small enough to catch every hair, the formula dries invisibly and, most importantly, your brows still look like your brows at the end of the day.Exclusive for Ask Alex readers: Buy any Brow Gel Set and you’ll receive a complimentary lip liner, plus use code SUB30
