    Chernobyl (opens the original)

    Episode notes · Positive tone

    Read excerpt

Chernobyl tells the story of the 1986 nuclear power plant explosion in the Soviet Union. What surprises most people about the show is that it was written by the guy who wrote The Hangover Part II and III and Scary Movie 3 and 4. Before Chernobyl , Craig Mazin made his living writing comedy films, but after multiple decades in the business he decided that he was going to step out of the box the industry had placed him. What resulted is one of the highest rated television shows in history. Artwell

Stephen King is one of the great American novelists. He burst onto the scene with 1974's Carrie and then went on to have one of the most prolific decades that any author has ever had. In the first ten years of his career he published many great books, but five of them are considered all time greats: Carrie (1974), 'Salem's Lot (1975), The Shining (1976), The Stand (1978), and Pet Pet Sematary (1983).
