One of these years, Iowa Libertarians might get through an election cycle without any controversies or court challenges. But 2026 is not going to be that year. For the second election cycle in a row, Libertarian candidates are putting more time and attention toward getting on the ballot than they are into actually earning votes. The partyâs gubernatorial ticket and one congressional candidate were booted from the ballot in June. Court challenges to their disqualifications have failed thus far.
