During our recent holiday gift guide Zoom pitching workshop, a question came up that I suspect a lot of publicists think about these days: Can journalists tell when you’ve used AI to write a pitch?Short answer: Yes. Most of the time, we can. (Most people with a semi-trained eye can, and that’s a lot of people these days.) And yes, this is just as I know you can tell when you see an AI-generated bylined story that’s been slapped up online without editing.Does this disqualify your pitch? <a href="

Welcome to holiday gift guide season — exciting and crazy-making as it is!The pitches started trickling in around my birthday in mid-July — at which point my fellow journalists and I were sidebarring by group chat: Gah, no! Too soon! By August, things were ramping up. And now in September: It’s full-court press. That means your holiday gift guide pitch isn’t just competing with the other br
New press opportunities, media job moves + your HGG pitching crash course (opens the original)
