POEM FOR A LADY WHO DABBLES IN THE LIGHT (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Below is a poem I wrote this summer inspired by the presentation of the Steven Cuffie Archive, an ongoing project at New York Life Gallery. In collaboration with the Estate of Steven Cuffie, and with help from Cuffie’s son, artist Marcus Cuffie, New York Life Gallery has been cataloguing and digitizing tens of thousands of previously unseen negatives from Cuffie’s archive, which his children found after he died in 2014. Steven Cuffie was an American photographer who lived and worked in Baltimore
