Last year, in early to mid September, the title of the below poem came to me, as an exhale, as a release, a letting go. While there is much I enjoy about summer, overall it’s too intense for me. Like someone turned up the volume on life (and the thermostat… I am not good with the more and more common heatwaves we’re experiencing in Central Europe over the past 5-10 years). So when the nights get cooler, darker and quieter, it feels like a kind of relief, a coming home. Like I can breathe again.
