    The base colour is lemon yellow, overlaid with blue like a sea. An orange-black line courses down the centre, representing: spine, nervous system, the resistance of fear. There’s a call to cross — into a mountainous, unknown, glacial place. Danger, tension and adventure are here. The gold in the painting suggests a helix: our own cellular impulse to journey — to resist this would be to deny something essential, to limit ourselves to safe-only, when perhaps safe-enough1 is where wisdom can expand
